Expectations have been met for the brief, because the script contains a noteworthy landmark (at the beginning), has a fictional narrative and is filmed completely outside of London. The script should meet the needs of the target audience, as the story has been made for a range of ages, and mainly males.
My script doesn’t need many changes, other than the fact it is quite short on description. I can add more detail to my description to make it clearer what is happening at certain times.
The content of my script has the correct format, style and layout etc. I used the font ‘Courier New’ at 12 point, which is the industry standard for script text. All my description was in bold and enclosed in square brackets the make it obvious that it was description. The dialogue in the script was all indented, with the names of characters in capitals. This makes it easier to find the dialogue on the script, and not get it mixed up with any other text. It is also industry standard. I used sluglines and parentheticals where appropriate, to describe where and when the scene is, and to describe the way a character does/says something. At the beginning I included a title page as well, which contained the name of the film, my name and the date created.
I think that most aspects of my script are good, as the structure and format where correct, and the story makes sense. The script looks meets a lot of requirements for a pre-production script, and the format is very similar, if not the same, as industry standard.
I don’t think there were many errors with my script, and I have already corrected any obvious mistakes I made. The script isn’t as long as I would want, however I am sure that the film will still be 5 minutes long. Overall I am happy with my script as I think it looks like a real script and is easy to understand.
